Cosima
and I had a wonderful visit with her son Zack shortly after our Grand Canyon
backpack. We decided to visit Sedona
in search of the famous "Sedona Vortices" in the time preceding our visit with
Zach, so as to better fit into his heavy work schedule.
Cosima playing the flute in a typical native American ceremony honoring the
mystery and power of the Vortex
We
visited two of the most well know areas in our search. Although Cosima was
uncertain of the Vortex energies, we honored each with a traditional Native
American ceremony using flutes and chants. It was great fun! The
Sedona area is beautiful if you get away from the city proper.
After
our Sedona hikes we enjoyed Zach's company and hospitality. He purchased a
mountain bike for our visit so that we could enjoy some of the Phoenix area
trails with him. He even found a biking friend to help select trails
suitable to our combined skill levels. Zach told us later that he so
enjoyed the mountain biking that he upgraded his new bike to an even better one!
He was hooked!
Zach
also took us dining and to the movies......two of or favorite activities. In
all, we had a truly fine Arizona visit!
